New Medical Director
Dr. Wendy Askew is a private practice physician specializing in Gynecology, and Functional and Regenerative Medicine at Dr. Rogers Centers in San Antonio. She is a veteran of the USAF, where she served on active duty for over 11 years. During her 20+ year career in medicine, she has taught resident physicians in academic medicine programs, served on various hospital committees, participated in medical missions, and built a thriving private practice. Dr. Askew hosts a vlog, entitled The Whole Truth, and is a contributing medical expert for numerous local and national publications.
Dr. Wendy is on a mission to help patients achieve real health and wellness throughout their lives through the integration of functional, regenerative, and conventional medicine therapies. Having personally experienced the healing effects of cannabis medicine on her own autoimmune disease has deepened her conviction that patients deserve broad access to this healing plant.
Dr. Wendy is an advocate for the use of medical cannabis for a variety of health conditions and is a member of the American Academy of Cannabinoid Medicine as well as the Society of Cannabinoid Clinicians. She is board certified in the fields of Obstetrics & Gynecology, and in Functional and Regenerative Medicine.
Dr. Wendy serves on the board of directors for The Foundation for an Informed Texas, an organization that educates the public about cannabis medicine and is working to change cannabis laws in Texas. She is a member of the medical advisory board for H-empirical CBD. She is a member of the board of directors of Betty’s Co., a start-up company that provides education to young women regarding their reproductive health.
When she isn’t working, she enjoys spending time with friends and family, including her daughters, Hannah and Sophie, her husband Sam, and their four rescue pets. She loves traveling, exercise, reading, meditation, meeting new people, and personal & professional growth.
